Jobberman Ghana organises maiden Career workshop

Jobberman Ghana, Ghana’s leader in recruitment solutions and no.1 jobs website has organised a one-day career workshop for graduates and job seekers at the British Council.

In his opening remarks, Babajide Otoki, CEO of Jobberman Ghana, revealed that in hosting this maiden workshop, Jobberman Ghana seeks to ensure that graduates and job seekers are well informed and kept abreast on the changing trends in the job market, adding: “This initiative is entrenched in our company’s commitment to help job seekers become successful during the job search process”.

Mr. Otoki further noted that Jobberman Ghana, over the years has positioned itself as a thought leader in the jobs and recruitment marketplace by delivering a convenient, accessible and affordable platform.

“Our company over the last few years, has established itself as leader in recruitment solutions industry in Ghana and in West Africa. When it comes to assisting job seekers prepare adequately to gain a competitive edge, we have been true to our mission and it is my firm belief that this career workshop would go a long way to consolidate our efforts”, he said.

The maiden event involved an exhibition and workshop with presentations from Mrs. Victoria Brakohiapa-Okyereh (Tigo Ghana), Mr. Richard Ahiagble (Airtel Ghana), Mr. Kwabena Asamoa (Transmed Ghana) and Mr. Abeeku Enstua-Mensah (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).

Mrs. Brakohiapa-Okyereh, Recruitment Manager at Tigo Ghana intimated to participants that the job market is changing and job seekers must adapt and move with the changing trends in order to be competitive.

“One of the biggest tools that recruiters are employing to scout for talent in recent times is LinkedIn. Therefore if you are not social media savvy and using this platform, then you are missing out of very good opportunities to be identified”, she added.

Additionally, she pointed out that employers are no longer looking for people with degrees and work experience but interested in applicants, who are can take initiative, creative and can think outside the box.

Mr. Kwabena Asamoa, Human Resource Manager for Transmed Ghana, also underscored the fact that it has become increasingly difficult to get a job in our days, looking at the numbers coming out of the tertiary institutions and you must have attributes to stand out of the crowd.

“Employers are looking for candidates who fit the job profile, are focused on delivering results and flexible to the changing needs of job roles, adding “Graduates and job seekers should be able to position themselves, so as to stand out from the crowd”.

As part of the workshop, Jobberman Ghana conducted mock interviews, CV vetting and screening, and gave general career guidance counselling to participants.

Representatives from Tigo Ghana, Airtel Ghana, UBA Ghana, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and Lancaster University Ghana were on hand to speak to participants on how they could access their services and career opportunities.
